Safaree attacked by ex-wife Erica Mena in CCTV footage
Nicki Minaj‘s ex-boyfriend, Safaree, was recently attacked by his ex-wife, Erica Mena. Brooklyn native Safaree Samuels was previously a member of the Hood$tars, Minaj’s first crew comprised of Loustar, Seven Up, herself and Safaree. However, after the group split, he went quiet for a while and resurfaced in 2016 on the reality TV show Love & Hip-Hop: New York.
While a cast member of the show, he met former video vixen-turned-singer Erica Mena and the two began to form a relationship. The reality TV couple eventually got married. However, from the beginning, it wasn’t the smoothest of relationships.
The pair were on and off for years, and loud, vicious arguments almost became part of their brand, but after the birth of their children, their relationship turned so sour that Samuels and Mena filed for divorce.
Now, leaked CCTV footage has emerged that shows the Bronx singer begin to abuse Samuels physically. Furthermore, from the videos uploaded by Safaree, one of the incidents took place in front of their children.
The security footage shows Mena shoving Samuels and pushing him around so forcefully that he accidentally broke some possessions inside one of their homes. Due to the nature of the altercation, Safaree felt he needed to show the world what he is allegedly subjected to regularly.
Captioning the video, Samuels wrote, “I have to put myself first.” He added, “Because I’m either gonna end up in jail or worse because I’m dealing with someone who’s anger management is nonexistent.”
The former rapper even implied that he regrets having children with Mena due to her unpredictable temperament and her propensity for violence. He wrote, “When you have children with someone…I should have just noticed certain things when it came to parenting.”
The latest spat between Safaree and Erica Mena resulted from their ongoing row over child support payments. Safaree sent Mena a request to lower his monthly payments from $4K. He also asked her to cover his legal fees as she keeps on taking him to court over alleged money owed. Erica Mena did not take to this request positively.
Prior to attacking Samuels, Mena took to social media to condemn Safaree for trying to lower his monthly child support payments. The reality star also shared the amount of time Safaree allegedly spent with his children in the past year and suggested that it was lower than he was leading the public to believe, writing, “Imagine trying to detect CS from your BM. When that’s they get from you since he skips out on birthdays and Christmas by choice… You only seen your kids 16 times this whole year so far.”
