Russell Simmons warns the people criticising his friends
Music industry veteran Russell Simmons has issued a warning to the social media users who have been criticising the friends who have been supporting him. A number of Simmons’ closest associates have been visiting him in Bali, where he is waiting out after facing several allegations of rape and sexual misconduct in his native United States.
Simmons is maintaining his innocence and said that he has done far less than the most recent US presidents. According to the music mogul, he has never been involved in the criminal process, whether with a local law enforcement agent or something higher and more serious.
“I have never spoken to a policeman about anything,” he recently stated (via The Neighbourhood Talk). “I have never spoken to a judge, civil or criminal, about anything. From what I can tell, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, President Trump, all have more credible claims against them than I do.”
Simmons went on to say that he has taken as many as nine lie detector tests to prove his innocence and questions the former US presidents as to whether they had done the same. The music figure then asked for people on social media on stop attacking his friends when they decide to visit him in Bali.
“Knock it off,” Simmons said. “I love you, I just don’t want my friends attacked. I wish you all the best, but just leave my friends alone. Don’t attack them for visiting me.”
Taraji P. Henson has come under fire for visiting Simmons. Earlier in August, Simmons posted a picture online with Henson, offering a positive caption that read, “People, when you have friends like this, you are truly blessed!!!!”

After the post arrived online, the comments section was quickly filled with negativity aimed at Henson. Simmons is being sued for alleged sexual assault by an unnamed woman and is planning to stay in Bali for the foreseeable future, where he has been living since 2018. Simmons claims that he owns no property in the United States and pays non-resident taxes in California.
