Rolling Loud California crowd hurl objects at DaBaby during his performance

During his set at Rolling Loud California, DaBaby had objects thrown at him from the crowd in an apparent protest at his comments made at his last appearance at the festival.

The incident resulted from a line-up switcharoo from organisers, which left fans bemused at the sight of DaBaby. The schedule had Future listed on the Ciroc stage and DaBaby performing on the Power 106 stage. However, they swapped slots, and the audience was none the wiser before he began his set.

Understandably, the crowd were excited to see Future, and when they saw DaBaby emerge on-stage, things became heated. The rapper opened his set with ‘Rockstar’ and reacted calmly when objects were thrown at him at all angles from the furious audience.

The last time DaBaby appeared at a Rolling Loud event, he infamously made a string of homophobic comments on-stage. He was then condemned by everybody from Elton John to Dua Lipa.

During his set, he said: “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of the deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up.”

Unlike most festivals, Rolling Loud California kept him on the bill following the controversy. However, this incident shows that DaBaby isn’t perhaps as wildly popular as he once was, and the people have turned.
