Listen to Rihanna’s new track ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’

Rihanna is back with her first solo single since the release of her Anti album way back in 2016. The new song, ‘Lift Me Up’, is the star’s contribution to the soundtrack for the new Marvel film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

The film itself comes with a profound synopsis: “The nation of Wakanda is pitted against intervening world powers as they mourn the loss of their king T’Challa.” If that sounds tear-jerking on paper, then imagine the real thing with its rousing emotional soundtrack.

For the song, Rihanna teamed up with Nigerian artist Tems, renowned Swedish producer Ludwig Göransson, and director Ryan Coogler for a song that pays tribute to the late, great Chadwick Boseman.

Speaking about her contribution to the song, Tems stated: “I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life”.

“I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them,” Tems explained. “Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honour.”

The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack is set for release November 4th. You can listen to the track below.
