Rihanna and A$AP Rocky named son after RZA of Wu-Tang Clan

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have reportedly named their firstborn after KZA from the classic hip-hop collective Wu-Tang Clan. The news comes following a leak from the Daily Mail, who appear to have obtained the official birth certificate for the child.

According to the Daily Mail, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have reportedly named their year-old son RZA Athelston Mayers. From the image shared by the publication, the documentation appears legitimate. If confirmed, it adds the couple to a long line of celebrities who have given their children a unique name in recent years.

Most notably, the pop singer Grimes and her former partner Elon Musk named their children in code. Their first was named X Æ A-XII, and nicknamed “X,” while the other, Exa Dark Sideræl, is called “Y” for short.

In a tweet following the birth of Exa Dark Sideræl, Grimes explained, “She’s Y now, or ‘Why?’ or just ‘?’ (But the government won’t recognize that),” adding that the name is supposed to represent “curiosity, the eternal question, .. and such.”

The derivation that A$AP Rocky and Rihanna named their firstborn after KZA gains verity in the knowledge that Rocky has long vocalised his deep adoration for Wu-Tang Clan and even released a song titled ‘Wu-Tang Forever’ in 2016 in collaboration with Drake. Listen below.
