Rick Ross pushes back release date for ‘Set in Stone’ album
Rick Ross has revealed that his upcoming album has been delayed.
Earlier this year, Rozay announced that his new album, Set in Stone, would be released on June 12th. However, it turns out the date wasn’t set in stone at all.
This week, the Miami rapper has confirmed that the project has been pushed back to July 17th.
Dropping on Maybach Music Group, the album is set to include 19 tracks, including the previously released ‘Minks in Miami’ with French Montana and Max B, and the upcoming single ‘Mahogany Caskets’ featuring T.I.
Set in Stone will serve as his first album in five years following Richer Than I Ever Been. Ross initially announced the title of the project in April and shared the first release date in May.
“I challenged myself musically,” he recently told the Daily Mail in an interview. “That’s what the renaissance is about, it’s not getting to a point where you feel you at a ceiling.”
Competing against the rest of his discography, he said, “Not only should I put out a dope album, it should be fucking challenging any body of work I ever released. And so that’s what the challenge to myself was.”
He added, “So a lot of the records that I put on it sonically and just the way I feel, you know, what the game needed as my contribution… I’m gonna be excited the day it’s released.”
Ross’ last album, Richer Than I Ever Been, was released in December 2021. It debuted at number 22 on the Billboard 200 chart with features from the likes of Future, 21 Savage, Wiz Khalifa, Benny The Butcher, The-Dream, Wale, and more.
