Ray J elaborates on fight with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ kids to Nicki Minaj
Ray J recently unveiled that he was in a fight with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ children. However, during a recent Instagram Live stream with Nicki Minaj, the ‘One Wish’ singer went into detail about exactly what happened and delivered us some new details.
Joining Minaj on October 30th, Ray J began by pleading with the Pink Friday creator, who was very indifferent and passive-aggressive towards the singer about his behaviour over recent months and years. However, after a long exchange back and forth with Ray J, Nicki bluntly asked him whether or not he had been fighting with Combs’ kids in the club.
Ray J had previously told publications that he was aggressively approached by Diddy’s three sons, Justin, Christian and Quincy, at Tara Electra’s Halloween party. Still, he went into a little more depth with Nicki.
After the ‘Super Bass’ rhymer asked him if he had been “fighting in the club,” Ray J adamantly replied, “No, we didn’t have a fight. We had a big argument right outside the club. This time, I think I got loud and got aggressive. But it was the third time this happened, so I felt like I needed to stand up for myself.
The ‘I Hit It First’ singer admitted that he was saying a lot of things but insisted that it never got physical. Recalling the argument he told Minaj, “Even though I was talking shit and we were having a lot of crazy words, I was walking that way to avoid the issue. So that’s what happened, and it’s unfortunate.”
However, he then unveiled that he and Combs’ sons settled their argument on a phone call the day after the altercation, declaring, “What’s dope is that we all got on the phone and we talked for about 35 minutes.”
Akin to many in hip-hop, Ray J had been talking ill about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for years, as such, he spoke to Minaj about a run-in he had with his kids before, disclosing, “First off, they tried to fight me before in a hotel. Justin said, ‘Let’s take a fade. I don’t like what you’re talking about with my pops.'”
Following the event, TMZ reported on it, highlighting how Justin, Christian, and Quincy Combs surrounded the 43-year-old and wanted to fight him before R&B singer Chris Brown, who was also at the party, settled the scuffle.
Combs is set to face trial in May, 2025 after being charged with sex trafficking and racketeering. He denies all allegations of wrongdoing and is set to plead not guilty.
Still, earlier this month, despite their anger, Combs’ children, including his sons, shared a statement in support of their father. Acknowledging his charges for the first time, they wrote: “The past month has devastated our family. Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiralled into absurdity on social media.”
