Rapper Taliban Glizzy sentenced to 18 years in prison

Washington DC rapper Taliban Glizzy has been sentenced to 18 years behind bars for robbing jewellery stores.

The 34-year-old (real name Trevor Wright) was handed 219 months in prison for his role in leading many violent armed robberies.

Glizzy pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery, brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and unlawful possession of a firearm in September 2025.

As well as 18 years in prison, Judge Christopher R Cooper ordered him to serve four years of supervised release.

The US Attorney’s Office, District of Columbia, revealed that, as part of a 15-member crew, Glizzy made millions of dollars in cash and gold over 18 months. The crimes took place in 2021 and 2022, with Glizzy arrested on an outstanding warrant in December 2022.

In a statement, US Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro said, “Trevor Wright and his crew terrorised victims from Northern New Jersey to South Florida. His crew left behind a wake of destruction and great financial loss for family-owned businesses.”

She continued, “They smashed glass display cases and shoveled the gold into laundry bags. After one armed robbery of nearly $2 million, Wright spent proceeds to purchase a Rolex. He sure won’t need a luxury watch to measure the more than 18 years he’ll now spend in prison.”

Glizzy’s biggest song, ‘Attachments’, is a collaboration with Pressa and boasts 40 million Spotify streams.

In his verse, he raps, “Ain’t stoppin’ till they all dead, I put that on the code/ My n*ggas down the road doing life without parole/ That fake-ass gangster image he portrayed got exposed/ When he went in front of the judge and he told.”

His song ‘Rich As Us’, a collaboration with DDG, has 813,000 views on YouTube. ‘Suicide Bombers’ also has 276,000 views.
