Rapper T-Hood shot dead at age 33
Tevin Hood, a Georgia rap artist known as T-Hood, was shot and killed at his home at the age of 33.
As reported by TMZ, one person was detained in connection with the shooting and is being interviewed by the police. T-Hood did not die at the scene, but was transported to the hospital first. He later passed away as a result of his injuries.
Gwinnett County police officers detained the single suspect after responding to reports of a dispute that resulted in a shooting at his home. Allegedly, he was shot five times, though no official statement has been released yet.
The rapper’s mother, Yulanda, confirmed the news of her son’s death to the outlet and denied accusations that there had been a party going on at the time of the tragedy.
The timing of his death is eerie, after the rapper had recently been commanding his fans to “die” for his new song, ‘Grave Diggerz’.
In a social media video, the rapper was dressed as a ghost in a graveyard, covered in a white sheet. He told viewers, “Hello, are you still alive? We are dead down at the cemetery. Come down to the cemetery, I have a spot for you.”
T-Hood’s producer, Deddotwill, reacted to the news via Instagram. “We was just on the phone all day, I can’t believe you are gone,” he wrote. “Rest in peace T-Hood, I love you brother.”
At the time of his death, T-Hood was dating Kelsie Frost, the daughter of reality star Kirk Frost. She quickly took to social media to publicly mourn his passing, and shared that she had been “advised not to speak up by plenty of parties.”
She shared, “I will always defend my baby. I don’t condone this s*** in anyway shape form or fashion. I am sick to my stomach. I don’t wish this on any one.” These comments come amid plenty of fan speculation as to what really happened with his death.
T-Hood was known in the Southern rap scene for songs like ‘READY 2 GO’, ‘Perculator’ and ‘Big Booty’.
