Rapper Lil Troy fighting for his life following cardiac arrest

Rap sensation Lil Troy has reportedly been fighting for his life following a heart attack that left him in critical condition. The rapper’s condition was revealed by Willie D of the Geto Boys, who took to Instagram to post about the news. “EXCLUSIVE!!! Lil Troy Suffers Heart Attack… Fighting for His Life!” he wrote.

Willie D then elaborated on Troy’s condition in a YouTube video, explaining, “The good news is he’s still with us. The bad news is he’s not out of the woods.” He provided an update on his condition, revealing that he is suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Despite saying he was “getting winded trying to put on his shoes,” he also said that he was alert in the hospital.

He then encouraged greater awareness of health and well-being following the recent deaths of Fatman Scoop and Beatking and the scares following Scarface. Fatman Scoop recently suffered a fatal medical emergency when he collapsed during a headline performance at the Green and Gold Party.

“Family, we gotta do something about this health crisis that we’re having. We are losing too many soldiers,” Willie D said. “As I said in the opening, thank God Troy is still with us. But, so many more, including recently Fatman Scoop and BeatKing, who didn’t make it.”

Lil Troy endured another near-death experience back in 2021 when his truck randomly burst into flames while he was driving on the highway. At the time, while he admitted to feeling scared, he also described the situation as a “blessing”, reflecting on it with the epiphany that “GOD IS good.”

The rapper rose to fame in the late 1990s with tracks like ‘Wanna Be a Baller’, which propelled his debut Sittin’ Fat Down South to mainstream success and sold almost two million copies in the US alone. However, despite its success, Lil Troy has regarded ‘Wanna Be a Baller’ as a cursed song for many years, considering that almost everyone who appeared on the track has since passed away.

“I’ve been saying [the song] is cursed for a long time. It’s like that movie Final Destination when everyone starts dying right after each other,” Troy told HopHopDX.

At the time, he revealed it had made him feel fated to follow in the same footsteps, adding, “I’m like, ‘I know I’m not next.’ Everybody that got on that song or did something together, they start dying one by one after each other. I said, ‘Oh no, it’s not my time to go yet. No, no.'”

Troy has yet to comment in his latest condition.
