Rainn Wilson, famed for his role as Dwight Schrute in the American version of The Office, has joined Logic in the studio to make some new beats. Wilson shared a video on his Instagram page showcasing his surprising talents and also showing how impressed Logic is with his skills.
Logic said in the video, “My man is making beats, and he’s really snapping.” He then went into the room where Wilson was working to show the actor sitting at a music production centre, moving through various samples and focusing on a heavy drum beat.
As Wilson’s character is a beet plantation owner in The Office, Logic captioned the video, “Look who stopped by to cook some beets”. You can watch the video of Wilson in the studio below.
Last year, Logic released a mammoth 30-track album, Vinyl Days, marking his seventh full-length studio release, containing the tracks ‘Breath Control’ and ‘Orville’ featuring Like and Blue & Exile. The album came in just two years after he had initially retired.
In a podcast interview with Rory Farrell and Jamil Clay, the co-hosts of The Joe Budden Podcast, Logic explained that Budden’s dour comments on his career had influenced his decision to announce an early retirement. Budden had said that Logic is “easily one of the worst rappers to ever grace a microphone”.
Logic said later in the interview with Farrell and Clay, “I read this, and my heart rate explodes. And I’m like, ‘Oh my God’, and I go out, and I’m at like the [Madison Square] Garden, and everyone is rapping my lyrics and shit, whatever. And I’m like, ‘I’m a failure’.” However, it looks now that Logic has risen above Budden’s critical comments and has taken to his passion once more with the release of Vinyl Days.
