R. Kelly accuser claims to have seen him sexually abuse Aaliyah at 13

An accuser of R. Kelly had claimed that she witnessed him sexually abuse Aaliyah when the singer was just 13 years old.

The 54-year-old is currently in court and has pled not guilty to all of the nine charges in the case, further claiming no wrongdoing. The ‘Believe I Can Fly’ singer faces one charge of racketeering and eight violations of the Mann Act, which criminalises the transportation of any woman or girl across state lines for immoral purposes, including illegal sexual activity. The trial has been delayed multiple times due to coronavirus, and now he’s finally in a courtroom.

Now, the tenth accuser has stood in court, under the pseudonym of ‘Angela’; she claimed to have been a backup dancer for the late Aaliyah. Furthermore, she told the room that she saw Kelly giving oral sex to Aaliyah in 1992 or 1993 – when Aaliyah was aged 13 or 14.

“I saw Robert and Aaliyah in a sexual situation,” Angela told the courtroom, according to Vulture. “It appeared he has his head in between her legs and was giving her oral sex.”

After witnessing the alleged assault, she then closed the door and never spoke about the incident at the time to anybody. At the time, Kelly would have been in his mid to late 20s. He married Aaliyah in an illegal ceremony when she was only 15 after fearing she’d become pregnant.

Angela also admitted that she also had a relationship of a sexual nature with Kelly, which started when she was around 14 or 15.

The trial continues.
