Queens rapper YP DA YG killed by nephew in murder-suicide

Queens rapper YP DA YG was killed by his nephew last week. The Queens native (real name Prince McFarlane) was 37 years old.

The incident took place on October 3rd at around 11:45pm at a home located on 116th Road near 155th Street in the Jamaica neighbourhood of Queens, New York.

The New York Police Department discovered two men with gunshot wounds, with YP DA YG suffering from a bullet to the head.

His nephew suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital. A firearm was found inside the building.

According to the Daily Voice, the murder was part of a dispute over the family’s home. Relatives had recently listed the property for $600,000.

Facebook was flooded with tributes. One associate wrote, “I’m at a loss for words. You were such a good friend to me all these years. You didn’t deserve this and your family doesn’t either. It’s rare to find people like you. Thank you for everything!”

Another person said, “Smfh can’t believe it was you seems like we was just at Roy Wilkins bout to to hit the stage u will be missed forever.”

Furthermore, another user wrote, “I am literally shaking lost for words I can’t believe this my brother from a another we go so far back and I watch you grow I can’t believe this.”

YP DA YG released his debut album, Reloaded, in 2019. His biggest songs included ‘2 Steppin’ and ‘Big Queens’.

His pinned Instagram posts included photos with 50 Cent, Jadakiss, and Nicki Minaj. In the caption, he wrote, “Happy Birthday to the Queen @nickiminaj. I wish you many more . enjoy your day. NEW MUSIC ON THE WAY HANNNN UNNNN.”
