Queen Latifah shuts down death hoax: “I’m A-OK”

Queen Latifah has responded to fake news after rumours circulated online about her death.

The 55-year-old came across claims that she had died and took to social media to clear up the false rumours once and for all.

In an Instagram video on March 5th, she said, “Good morning! It’s me, Latifah. I’m 100 per cent A-OK. Can’t believe what you read on the internet or see. Can’t believe nothin’ now, right? I’m good. Peace.”

Fans took to the comments to defend Latifah. One person said, “Idk what was said but keep her name out yalls mouth!!! Leave this Queen BE!”

Another fan said, “Wait a minute! Who we need to fight?! Did they try to off the QUEEN?!?!”

Others wrote, “So glad I didn’t see something. That woulda taken me out. Love you,” and “My looooove!!!!! Dont mess with nobody and always has been black excellence!”

Latifah hasn’t released an album since 2009’s Persona. During an interview last year, she was asked if an album or tour was in the pipeline.

“You see, you remember when I said I was gonna pray about it just a second ago?” she told Revolt. “Because everybody wants all those things, and I have a lot of that at my disposal. So, I’m just trying to figure out what comes first. We are definitely gonna drop some new music, and we’ll see what happens from there.”

She’s set to reprise her role in the upcoming 2027 movie, Ice Age: Boiling Point, as Ellie, the woolly mammoth. She previously appeared in Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Ice Age: Continental Drift, and Ice Age: Collision Course.
