Quavo and Takeoff pick their favourite rappers

Quavo, Takeoff and Offset, as a trio, formed one of the most legendary rap collectives of all time, The Migos. During their tenure as hip-hop’s leading crew, they most certainly changed the culture and the kind of rap people consume.

Formed in Atlanta, the Migos (short for amigos) was comprised of the late rapper Takeoff alongside Quavo and Offset. All three members were related. Managed by legendary Atlanta manager Coach K, the founder of Quality Control (QC). In 2013, the collective had their first breakthrough into the charts with the track ‘Versace’ and shot to stardom extremely quickly.

With projects such as Young Rich Niggas, Yung Rich Nation and Culture, The Migos made waves and were destined for even bigger things. However, in 2022, Takeoff was tragically murdered outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas. The ‘Last Memory’ artist was shot in the head and torso following a party.

Although the legend is no longer with us, in October 2022, less than a month before his murder, the emcee (real name Kirsnick Ball) appeared on the Drink Champs podcast hosted by Noreaga and DJ EFN alongside his musical counterpart Quavo.

During the interview, the relatives chose some of their favourite artists during a segment when asked to pick between two. When asked who their favourite was between Young Thug and Gunna, the pair swiftly chose the YSL founder.

When asked to pick between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B the pair were faced with a quandary as their crewmate Offset is married to Cardi. However, they both selected Nicki Minaj as their favourite.

Another tough selection both Ball and Quavo faced was to pick between Drake and Lil Wayne. However, as representatives of the South, both lyricists took it upon themselves to select Lil Wayne.
