Atlanta legends Quavo and Future have decided to release their highly anticipated collaboration, ‘Turn Yo Clic Up.’ Produced by Atake, Basobeats, Sluzyyy, and Macshooter49, this single follows last month’s tribute to the late Atlanta rapper Takeoof who got murdered outside a Houston bowling alley in November last year.
Quavo, a former member of the iconic trio Migos, has publicly been expressing his grief concerning his uncle’s untimely demise last year and took to social media earlier this year to honour his birthday, took to social media writing, “Happy Birthday @yrntakeoff can’t wait for days like this again!!! BEST believe we goin’ up all week the Rocket way GEEKD u 29 nigga.”
Both Quavo and Future have been Atlanta hip-hop kingpins for over a decade, and their latest joint track showcases the quintessential Southern rap song. This single is the latest in a series of Quavo tracks, including ‘Without You,’ ‘Greatness,’ and ‘Honey Bun.’
The single is set to appear on the Atlanta rapper’s upcoming album, Rocket Power, named after his late uncle, who was commonly referred to as ‘Rocket Man.’ Updating his followers about the body of work in an Instagram post, Quavo opened up about what fans can expect of the project.
The rapper’s heartfelt post read, “This album is a true reflection of how I feel right now. Sometimes I’m good, sometimes I’m down, sometimes I’m disappointed, sometimes I fall apart, but then I ALWAYS find my strength again.”
Refencing his uncle, he shared, “I know everything might not be alright right now, but the Rocket showed me a way to make it RIGHT!” ‘Turn Your Clic Up’ is not the first time Quavo and Future have joined forces. The duo have previously collaborated on songs like ‘Picasso,’ ‘Snitching,’ and “Congratulations (Remix).’
Rocket Power is set to be an emotional project. Although the announcement was made in May of this year, the emcee is yet to share an official release date. You can watch the music video for ‘Turn Yo Clic Up’ below.
