Japanese fashion designer Nigo has announced a list of star-studded rappers such as Pharrell Williams, Tyler, the Creator, and A$AP Rocky are appearing on his new album.
Nigo is best known for creating the luxury brand, A Bathing Ape (BAPE) in 1993, although he sold the brand in 2011 for $2.8m and departed the company two years later. Outside of clothing, music has been his longstanding passion, and he is the DJ in the hip-hop group Teriyaki Boyz.
They released their debut album, Beef or Chicken, in 2005 and their second album, Serious Japanese, arrived in 2009.
Now, the fashionista has revealed that his new project is “coming soon” and will feature Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi, A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, Pusha T, Tyler, the Creator, Fam-Lay and Teriyaki Boyz.
Nigo first revealed the record earlier this month when he shared the news that he’d signed with Steven Victor’s Victor Victor Worldwide label, which is a subsidiary of the Universal Music Group.
Currently, Nigo is still yet to release any material from the forthcoming project, and the release date remains undisclosed.
