Orlando rapper Maxon reportedly dies aged 21

Orlando, Florida rapper Maxon has reportedly died at the age of 21. The young artist (real name Mason Reyes) was known for coming up on SoundCloud.

Clash Magazine reports that multiple sources confirmed his death, following the rapper being taken to the hospital after a suicide attempt last week.

According to PrimeTimer, his sister, Mya Reyes, posted childhood photos with him on Instagram, writing in the caption, “Sleep well.” His collaborator, Percaso, also wrote on X, “Love while yu still kan, neva kno when its your last goodbye.”

Maxon (also known as Maxon Margiela) only started posting music on SoundCloud in February 2024, before moving over to other streaming platforms in the middle of the year.

He released his final album, Filthy, in July 2025 through Columbia Records. The rapper has over 104,000 Spotify listeners; his biggest songs, ‘Sexual Fantasies’ and ‘Austin Powers’, each have two million and 1.9 million streams.

Fans took to the comments of his YouTube videos the pay tribute. One person wrote, “Been almost a year since his come up, sad to see him gone. RIP maxon.” Another fan said, “RIP Maxon, mental health no joke LLM.”

Others shared their condolences on X, writing, “Rest in paradise Maxon Margiela. Fr one of the most genuine in the scene always brought good energy.”

Another person wrote, “Heart breaking, so young – mental health is no joke please check on your friends 🙁 my prayers and condolences to the family and friends.”

Maxon’s last Instagram post came on October 10th, which saw him promoting his Kiss the Future!!! EP that came out on that day.

The project’s biggest track is ‘Hate Me 2’. In the song, he raps, “If I was you, I’d hate me too/ If I was you, I’d hate me too/ Pretty, boy, my hundreds blue/ E-envy what my pockets do.”
