Nicki Minaj teases two 'Super Freaky Girl' remixes

Nicki Minaj has had a stellar year. As well as delivering a host of collaborations this year with Lil Baby, Coi Leray and Fivio Foreign, she dropped ‘Super Freaky Girl’, which marks her first solo single since 2019’s ‘Megatron’. ‘Super Freaky Girl’ broke a string of records, and became a number one smash-hit, confirming that Minaj isn’t done just yet, despite her stepping away from the media limelight.

A return to form, it is noted for its sample of Rick James’ iconic 1981 hit ‘Super Freak’, and almost instantly, it hit number on the Billboard Hot 100. She made history with the track, becoming the first female rapper to debut at number one since Lauryn Hill in 1998 with ‘Doo Wop (That Thing).’

The celebrations don’t end there. The release of ‘Super Freaky Girl’ confirmed Minaj as the first female lead artist to debut at number one in 2022, the first rapper with multiple number one debuts, and the first female rapper to reach number one without a video in over two years.

Unsurprisingly, Minaj is riding the wave of ‘Super Freaky Girl’. The rapper revealed on Tuesday (September 6th), that she’s only getting started with the Rick James-sampled anthem, as there is a remix on the way, with a possible second one, the ‘Queen Mix’, in the works.

“This remix tho,” Minaj wrote on Twitter. “#QueenMix coming to collect her things. Soon come.”

Apart from that tiny morsel of information, Nicki Minaj has kept further details of the remixes hush-hush, however, she did hint at multiple guests with the potential for a “part 2” on the way. “Also guys, this is part 1. There may be a part [2] #QueenMix,” she said.

“You did it barbz,” Minaj wrote in an Instagram note to her fans in August because of the track’s success. “You did it. I love you so much. like so so SO much. Thank you.”
