Nicki Minaj claims Jay-Z owes her $200 million

Nicki Minaj targeted Jay-Z during a rant on X (formerly Twitter) this week. Across a series of posts, she claimed the rapper owes her $200million.

The Queens rapper alleges the price is related to her stake in the music streaming service TIDAL. When the platform launched in 2015, several artists, including Kanye West, Rihanna, and J Cole, were given 3% in equity when it was worth $56million.

It was then sold to Square, owned by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, in 2021 for $302million. Keeping her stake in the sale, Nicki says she was offered $1 million for her share of the company when she should have received $9 million.

“We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far,” she wrote on July 8th. “#JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest. You still in my TOP 5 tho. Let’s get it n*gga. And anyone still calling him Hov will answer to God for the blasphemy.”

In another post, she said, “Dear #JayZ & Desirat, you ruined hiphop, you ruined football, you ruined basketball, you ruined touring, you ruined Instagram, you ruined Twitter. The jig is up. All of this is alleged & for entertainment purposes only.

“JayZ you let Desirat do a lot of evil to black ppl & you stayed silent. We used to believe you. You went out sad n*gga. This is all alleged & for entertainment purposes only. Desirat did you get that 40MM? 55 & paying for bots? Oh bot nation.”

Nicki previously collaborated with Jay in 2010 on ‘Monster’, which appeared on Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album.

Last month, she accused Jay’s label, Roc Nation, of plotting a conspiracy against her. She supported claims by Demoree Hadley, the daughter of Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, who alleged the label mistreated her and her family.
