Nicki Minaj admits she would collaborate with Taylor Swift

Queens emcee Nicki Minaj recently took to social media to let her fans know that she would happily collaborate with pop star Taylor Swift “in a heartbeat” following the release of her latest album, Pink Friday 2.

Minaj (real name Onika Maraj) recently managed to break a Spotify record, achieving a gold certification just two days after its release, and also broke the record for vinyl sales of the project.

Following the success of her album, Minaj took to X/Twitter to share the success of her project and respond to the fact that she managed to knock Swift off the chart’s top spot. Upon its release, Pink Friday 2 sold 25,000 vinyl copies, making it the highest-selling vinyl album since sales data began in 1991.

Prior to Pink Friday 2, Taylor Swift was dominating the charts with tracks such as ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’, ‘Midnights’, ‘Folklore’, and ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’. However, in a tweet sent out to fans, Minaj insisted there is no competition between the two artists and revealed she would happily collaborate with the pop star.

Expressing her love for Swift, Minaj wrote, “The SAG QUEEN TAYLOR DESERVES!!!! PERIOD!!!!!” She continued, Swift “takes months & years off then comes back with great music & fans who’ll never leave her”.

Admitting that record stores had no idea that she and Swift would have such demand for vinyls, Minaj tweeted, “Retailers had no way of knowing that the vinyls would be in such high demand. Either way, now they do,” she continued. “That’s a marvelous thing! Taylor & her fans have put in the work. Now it’s our turn.”

She concluded by posting, “The point is that we have something to aspire to as we watch the SAG QUEEN Taylor & the Swifties & Republic Records”, and when a fan asked her about a potential collaboration, the Queens lyricist admitted she would work with Swift “In a heartbeat”.
