New XXXTentacion documentary will premiere at SXSW 2022

The clamour for more and more XXXTentacion content continues to swell with the confirmation that a documentary on the late rapper will premiere at SXSW this year. Look at Me! will delve into the life and times of the rapper with an unflinching eye.

The 2022 SXSW Film Festival will host the Sabaah Folayan-directed documentary during the event, which runs from March 11th to the 19th. It will reflect on the life of a potential hip-hop icn taken too soon.

An official synopsis for Look at Me! reads: “Look At Me! explores how Jahseh Onfroy tapped raw talent, a gift for connecting with disaffected youth, and a mastery of social media to fashion himself into SoundCloud rapper XXXTentacion—one of the most streamed artists on the planet.”

Killed in 2018 at just 20-years-old, Onfroy was under investigation for numerous charges at the time of his death. As well as being a highly influential figure in the scene, it’s clear he was also a deeply troubled young man. Look at Me! will aim to reveal the truth behind all of the headlines.

In recent news, the rapper’s estate confirmed that a glut of unreleased material is coming to streaming platforms. The rapper’s estate revealed that ‘Vice City’ is the first of many rarely heard XXXTentacion songs to be shared. The statement read: “It is important for us to continue to honour Jah’s legacy, and in that spirit we are planning an exciting 2022. One of our first initiatives is to get as much of X’s music from his earliest days as an artist up on all DSPs.

“We have been working diligently to clear as much of it as possible, and we are excited to announce our first release this Friday with ‘Vice City’ hitting all streaming services for the first time. We will continue to release music as we clear it, and are making sure we do it in a way that stays true to how X released each song originally.”
