NBA YoungBoy’s prison release date moved forward
Louisiana rapper NBA YoungBoy may be home earlier than fans thought, as his release from federal prison has been moved forward. On March 20th, the Federal Bureau of Prisons revealed that the emcee’s release will take place on April 26th instead of July 27th, meaning that the lyricist will be home in just over a month.
Prior to his trial, the Baton-Rouge rhymer entered a guilty plea for gun possession as well as involvement in a prescription medication fraud scheme. As a result of this plea deal, NBA YoungBoy was sentenced to 23 months, five years of probation and a $200,000 fine. The artist then gave his firearms to the authorities.
In recent months, the deal has been amended, and NBA YoungBoy has seen a surprise reduction. Earlier this week, Birdman’s brother, Terrance ‘Gangsta’ Williams, alleged that NBA YoungBoy had been put in solitary confinement in Alabama’s FCI Talladega.
He also claimed that the reason was due to an altercation where YoungBoy hit a man from Mississippi “with a two-piece” who had yelled out Lil Durk‘s crew name, “OTF”, when he saw the rapper.
There is a history of beef between members of the Chicago-based ‘OTF’ collective and the Southern ‘Never Broke Again (NBA)’ collective as OTF member Lil Durk has been accused of killing the cousin of Quando Rondo (an NBA emcee).
Despite the seemingly real beef between the crews, in 2023, NBA YoungBoy insisted that his beef with Durk is all for “entertainment” after Gillie Da Kid said he wanted the two to squash their feud. Despite not being a part of the beef, Gillie The Kid said on his podcast, Million Dollaz Worth Of Game, “If both of them could hit the stage in the same night, it could show the young’uns that that shit ain’t that serious. The beef ain’t that serious. None of this drama is that serious.”
Still, two years ago, NBA YoungBoy insisted in an Instagram caption, “It ain’t what you think OG all this shit entertainment.” At the time, he was still under house arrest.
