Nas to link up with the LA Philharmonic Orchestra

Nas has announced a special one-off date with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.

On May 1st, the legendary rapper will be taking to the Walt Disney Concert Hall to perform Illmatic in full. This show won’t be the first time that Nas has played the album in its entirety, as he previously teamed up with the National Symphony Orchestra in 2014 to deliver a rendition of his 1994 masterpiece.

Meanwhile, Nas recently teamed up with Hit Boy for their new project, Magic, the third album the duo have crafted together. The producer has been at the helm for his previous two projects, King’s Disease and King’s Disease II. The two have built a prolific partnership over the last couple of years, and it’s even earned the duo a Grammy for ‘Best Rap Album’.

On Christmas Eve, they dropped Magic as a surprise album, with Nas announcing the project on Instagram, “MAGIC is in the air,” alongside an image of the artwork and back sleeve of the album. He added, “Midnight et brand new music to vibe to.”

Although commercially, the album only managed number 30 in the Billboard 100, Nas sounds as fresh as he has done for decades, and Hit Boy has overseen a renaissance of a true great.
