Nas and Lauryn Hill reunite on 'King's Disease II' track 'Nobody'

Nas and Lauryn Hill have reunited on the brand new track, ‘Nobody’.

The two hip hop heavyweights have been friends for decades ever since they rose out of New York together and became household names. More recently, they toured the world together in 2017. Now they’ve rekindled their sparkling chemistry with Nas recruiting the elusive star to appear on his song ‘Nobody’.

The first instalment of the King’s Disease series arrived last summer to high critical acclaim and even went on to win Nas a Grammy for ‘Best Rap Album’ at the awards ceremony earlier this year.

The iconic rapper thankfully didn’t waste any time getting back into the studio, and after the year we’ve all had, Nas is a rapper we can always rely on, especially on the rich vein of form he’s been on lately. The new record is searing, with the collaboration with Hill, the album’s prized track.

On Hill’s killer verse, she raps: “All my time has been focused on my freedom now, Why would I join ’em when I know that I can beat ’em now? They put their words on me, and they can eat ’em now, That’s probably why they keep on tellin’ me I’m needed now, They tried to box me out while takin’ what they want from me, I spent too many years living too uncomfortably, Making room for people who didn’t like the labour.”

They’re the kind of bars that not only have the collective cheer of everyone who hears them but also the groans of knowing Hill had so much more to give before she exiled herself.
