Moneybagg Yo sued by former manager for $100 million in Memphis lawsuit

Moneybagg Yo has been sued by his former manager for $100 million.

The woman, Sherry Jackson-Floyd, originally filed the lawsuit in 2019 and amended it in 2022, but the news was never reported. It’s set to go to trial in October.

According to Action News 5, the rapper, his label, Bread Gang Enterprises, and his management company are named in the lawsuit, claiming she helped start his career with her own money, credit, and experience.

Jackson-Floyd says she started working with Moneybagg in 2016, with the rapper promising her a share of his earnings, a salary, and company perks.

She alleges Roc Nation took over his management without honouring her financial stake and that the company interfered with her business relationship and expected profits.

The woman claims that Moneybagg promised her a third of his earnings, along with reimbursements and additional compensation.

Jackson-Floyd is seeking damages and wants an accounting of Moneybagg’s revenues. Following the news, her lawyer, Ralph T Gibson, shared a statement with Complex about the lawsuit, which was filed seven years ago.

“We just now got the trial date, and it’s October of this year,” he said. “I think that’s why it was picked up by the local news. Or because Moneybagg Yo’s lead counsel [Robert Spence] recently withdrew from the case. Maybe that’s why they picked it up. Why it didn’t get picked up in 2019, I don’t know. We don’t seek out the news, for a lot of reasons.”

Moneybagg released his last album, Speak Now, in June 2024. It reached number 13 on the Billboard 200 with features from Lil Durk, Morgan Wallen, Chris Brown, Rob49, YTB Fatt, and more.
