Missy Elliott announces new tour alongside Timbaland

Virginia emcee Missy Elliott has just announced that she will be heading on a North America tour alongside her longtime friend and collaborator Timbaland as well as Ciara and the iconic Busta Rhymes. Entitled the ‘Out Of This World’ tour, many estimate this will be the artist’s last tour.

This will be Elliot’s first-ever headline tour. The last time the ‘Get Ur Freak On’ hitmaker the road for a three-person tour was in 2004, as part of a joint trek with Beyoncé and Alicia Keys.

This new tour will begin on July 4th in the Canadian city of Vancouver and will hit 24 different cities, including Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Brooklyn, before the closing show at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

In a statement released by Elliott, the ‘Gossip Folks’ rhymer wrote, “This is an incredible time in my life as I am experiencing so many milestone ‘firsts’. Fans have been asking me to tour forever, but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family!”

She continued, telling her followers to brace themselves, concluding, “So get ready to be taken out of this world with me, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Timbaland! We can’t wait to share this experience with the fans!”

As well as Busta Rhymes, Timbaland and Ciara, Elliott will be reuniting with other vital figures she has previously worked with, including director Dave Meyers, the award-winning stylist June Ambrose, and the critically acclaimed creative director Hi-Hat.

Missy has been recognised as a boundary breaker. She was the first female rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and was even the recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2019. You can see the tour’s trailer below.
