Milwaukee rapper shot dead on his way to daughter’s birthday party
Milwaukee rapper TrapBaby has been shot and killed.
The 27-year-old artist died on the city’s north side on July 9th, while another person was also struck and injured.
According to CBS 58, TrapBaby was sitting in an SUV when he was murdered at around 2pm. He was outside a convenience store near 27th Street and Atkinson Avenue.
The two men were reportedly sitting in the vehicle when a white Lexus drove past and fired bullets from the front and rear passenger windows.
TrapBaby fell to the floor and died at the scene, with paramedics unable to save him after performing CPR. The other man, 22 years old, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The rapper’s cousin revealed that he was on his way to his daughter’s fourth birthday party when he lost his life.
“He FaceTimed me today,” he said. “It’s his daughter’s birthday party. We were supposed to be going there. That’s my cousin. We’ve been together since the sandbox. He had a good personality. Always looked out for the people who are around.”
Speaking on TrapBaby, a friend also said, “I lost a friend that I grew up with. Something like a family member,” while describing him as “loving, caring. He was always around us. He was always there.”
They continued, “People don’t want to see the next person make it out of here. Terrible. We see this every day. Milwaukee is getting worse and worse. You really have to be on defence. It’s not an easy game.”
TrapBaby is best known for songs such as ‘Off White Crack Shoes’, ‘Free Haulin’, ‘Cleo’, ‘Chrome Hearts’, ‘Samsung’, and ‘Gold Rush’, racking up millions of streams on YouTube over the years.
