Metro Boomin provides update on Young Thug

Metro Boomin has given fans an update on Young Thug and his ongoing RICO trial, suggesting a positive outcome for his friend.

Metro provided the update on his Instagram story which saw him post an old photo of him and Young Thug in the studio. He also suggested that the Young Stoner Life Records founder is optimistic regarding the outcome of the RICO trial. Thug faces eight charges, including conspiracy to violate the RICO Act, two counts of participation in criminal street gang activity, and numerous drug and weapon offences.

Metro wrote: “Talked to [spider emoji] today and just know when he touchdown the whole [earth emoji] gon feel it [bicep flex emoji].” His update comes just over a month after he spoke on The Streetz Iz Watching podcast about Thug’s situation and only weeks after the RICO trial suffered another setback due to the jury needing over 500 potential jurors.

As has been reported, the jury selection process rumbles on. Many potential jurors have been found ineligible for duty due to bizarre circumstances, including one who didn’t return after flying to the Dominican Republic.

Other setbacks have occurred, including Young Thug and at least two co-defendants being accused of attempting to smuggle drugs into court. Despite these setbacks, though, when speaking to DJ Drama on The Streetz Iz Watching in January, Metro said his “best friend” was staying positive.

“I be talking to him, he’s blessed man,” Metro maintained. “Anybody know Slime know he got a heart of gold but he got the heart of a warrior at the same time so like, he got his head up. And I pray for him every single day, even since everything first happened, I pray for him every single day.”

He continued, “The day he got locked up he was supposed to be in the superhero video. He had a whole scene set up where he was gonna say the tag and do some other shit. I remember talking to him on the FaceTime, he was like, ‘yeah I’m finna pull up.”

“Man that’s my brother I love him to death and he done helped me a lot with a lot of stuff that I been going thru this past year,” he said later on. “And on my faith I’m confident that he’s gonna be alright.”
