Megan Thee Stallion gives update about an upcoming project

‘Hiss’ rapper Megan Thee Stallion has recently given fans hints about the content of her upcoming project and has asked her followers about what they want from her concerning style and lyrics.

Since Lil’ Kim and the rise of Nicki Minaj, female MCs have followed a blueprint that sees them focus on sex appeal, a curvacious body type, and the release of highly salacious material instead of the conscious, reflective style of emceeing figures like J Cole and Kendrick Lamar showcase.

However, Megan Thee Stallion (real name Megan Pete) has alluded that her upcoming project may see her ditch sexual, unserious songs such as ‘Freak Nasty,’ ‘Cash Sh*t,’ and ‘WAP’ to instead focus on deeper issues using real lyricism.

Consumers used to songs such as ‘Anaconda’ and ‘Bongos’ often forget that the females behind these songs are capable of much more and are lyricists at heart who frequently hold back for commercial gains. Pete has now chosen to show she can push her pen.

Asking her fans about what they want from her, Pete asked her Instagram followers, “How many songs do y’all feel like y’all wanna hear on this album?” She continued, “In my mind, I was thinking 14, but I keep recording songs that’s so good!”

Opening up about how she’s switched her style up slightly, the Houston native unveiled, “I just remember how y’all used to really whack me for making pop that ass music. I really wanted to get on y’all’s asses and show y’all how bad I can rap, so I really haven’t been in touch with my roots.”

Pete insisted that she is going to release some tracks with a hardcore Southern hip-hop influence that see her rapping seriously. However, she wants to gauge how many fans want her to continue making party tracks such as ‘Hot Girl Summer’.
