Master P named ‘Entertainment Ambassador’ for Super Bowl LIX
Master P has a busy few months ahead of him. The Mayor of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell, recently announced that he would be the official “entertainment ambassador” for the next Super Bowl.
Super Bowl LIX is scheduled for February 9th, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in Crescent City. The mayor of New Orleans recently held a press conference to discuss the Super Bowl’s plans, during which she also said that Master P would be in charge of entertainment duties for the event.
She began by praising him and his accolades, saying that he is someone who “[demonstrates] the real resiliency of this community” and who shows that “There’s no limit when you put your mind on accomplishing great things for the city of New Orleans.”
She continued, to the crowd’s delight, by saying, “We are announcing Master P as the New Orleans entertainment ambassador.”
The Mayor has big plans for this initiative moving forward, as she said she intends on having Master P help create what will be called a “No Limit platform” in order to “stimulate educational and cultural opportunities for the city of New Orleans and her residents.”
She continued by stating that these commitments to entertainment will extend beyond just music. “This will be a collaborative of New Orleans entertainment advisors for film, television and music,” she said.
People will be able to attend classes that will teach them about the business side of entertainment. Master P is also encouraged by the city to expand its efforts, given his connections that stretch across the country. “Master P has the clout to connect New Orleans to more major special events [and] opportunities at every single level,” said Mayor Cantrell, “[He] will be a force multiplier for our culture, cementing our city on the world stage.”
Master P shared in the Mayor’s excitement as he took to the stage to say a few words. “To bridge the wealth gap, there’s a lot of things that we have to do to put money back into our culture,” he said, “We have to teach entrepreneurship, we have to teach leadership, and we have to focus on the younger people in this community… I want more for the city of New Orleans.”
This is a slight diversion from Master P’s previous plans, where he said he was keen on having an NBA coaching job; however, he will still be operating within the world of sport. It will be exciting to see what kind of impact he can have on the Super Bowl and New Orleans as a whole.
