
Maryland rapper HavinMotion shot and killed at 22
DMV rapper HavinMotion has reportedly died at the age of 22.
The young artist from Maryland (real name Dwayne Omar Isaacs Jr) lost his life on April 23rd.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, a shooting took place at around 10:11pm on the 3300 block of Wheeler Road, Southeast, in Congress Heights.
Seventh District officers responded to shooting reports and found a man not breathing at the scene of the crime, and were unable to save his life.
“Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim who was unconscious and not breathing, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” they said in a statement. “DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene, and despite all lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.”
Police later identified the victim as the rapper, HavinMotion, from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Two suspects have been identified: a Black man with a medium build in all-black clothing, and a Black man with short hair in a white shirt, hoodie, and blue jeans.
The MPD are currently investigating the incident and offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
HavinMotion has over 113,000 monthly Spotify listeners, with his biggest songs, ‘I Just Want U’ and ‘Vibe 2’, each boasting over three million streams on the platform. He also has millions of views on his YouTube channel.
Fans took to his YouTube videos to pay tribute. One person wrote, “Shiii gotta be cap asfk Ian believing ts motion ain’t dead.”
Someone else wrote, “To them you was ‘Havin Motion’. To me you will always be baby cuzzie. Such a sweet. Boy to know you and was to love ya.” Another fan added, “Shii almost made me cry man they don’t give u flowers till ur dead.”
