Man makes bomb threat at Doja Cat concert

A man has been arrested for making a bomb threat at a Doja Cat concert.

The singer was performing in Indianapolis at a free concert for AT&T’s Playoff Playlist Live gig at the Monument Circle venue in the city. Doja was joined on the bill alongside AJR and Pink Sweat$. However, in a scary turn of events, it momentarily looked like the show wouldn’t go ahead.

The Indianapolis Star claimed that a man was arrested before the concert, and the crowd had to dissipate for 20 minutes prior to gates opening because of a bomb threat.

In the queue, a fan told everybody around him that he had a bomb in his bag, but, thankfully, his claim was false, and it was the unnamed man’s warped way of getting to the front quicker.

Deputy Chief Joshua Barker said the man “exercised very poor judgement” and showed gratitude towards the person who reported it. He added, “someone did the right thing and alerted IMPD [the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department]”. Authorities said the bag was “clean” after searching the item.

Meanwhile, IMPD said he also had “unrelated outstanding warrants and was immediately arrested for those”. They added, “Police believe there is no active threat, and the investigation is ongoing.”

When the police made their statement, he was still in custody.
