Man who killed California rapper nephew cleared of murder
Bay Area rapper Lil Toro was stabbed to death in December, and now the man who killed him has been cleared of murder
The 38-year-old (real name Antonio Valdez) lost his life late last year, with police officers identifying his uncle as the culprit.
According to The Mercury News, the man in his early 60s was accused of murdering Toro after the rapper attacked his grandfather, which involved stomping on his head and breaking his skull.
Despite the killing, Toro’s relative was cleared on March 19th after prosecutors reviewed the case upon the conclusion of the sheriff’s investigation.
Toro was allegedly unarmed at the time, but prosecutors concluded that he was so violent and aggressive that they wouldn’t be able to disprove self-defence.
The rapper is accused of biting his uncle before the fatal stabbing, causing a gash on his hand. He then allegedly attacked his relative’s wife, with the incident captured on various emergency calls to 911.
The incident took place in Concord, California, on the 5100 block of Laurel Drive, on December 15th, with Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office responding to the attack at around 8:05am.
In a statement at the time, they said, “Deputies found a resident of the home deceased on the property. The victim is not being identified at this time. Three others who suffered from injuries were transported to a local hospital.”
Toro, also known as Homeboy LT, was from the city of Vacaville. In the years before his death, he reportedly swapped music for paranoid rants about his family members, including his grandfather.
Some of his biggest songs include ‘The Realest They Come’, ‘Funk Season’, and Friendz 2 Foez’.
