Macklemore’s $2.1 million home targeted in violent burglary

Macklemore had his Seattle home burgled over the weekend while his three children were sleeping. His nanny claimed she was assaulted when two men entered the house through the patio door after midnight in the early hours of June 8th.

The woman says she was sprayed with bear mace and asked by the intruders, “Where are the jewels, bitch?'” The men helped wipe her eyes before dragging her around the house by the arm while looking for prized possessions.

Ultimately, they stole thousands of dollars of jewellery, watches, clothing and shoes. The nanny said the two men called her “twitchy” after becoming suspicious, prompting them to knock her to the ground and put a boot to her neck while stealing her phone.

After screaming, they then allegedly pinned her against a wall and covered her mouth, but she managed to escape after biting one of the men and escaping through a bathroom window.

Once they left, she called the police via a neighbour’s phone, with authorities safely removing Macklemore’s children from the home. The two suspects have been described as Black men wearing face masks and gloves.

The rapper has been touring overseas in Ireland recently, with shows on June 4th and 5th. He reportedly bought his Capitol Hill house for $2.1 million in 2014. It’s 2,920 square feet and includes three bedrooms and 2.25 bathrooms.

Macklemore released his last album, BEN, in 2023, peaking at number 18 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was his first album in six years following Gemini, which debuted at number two. He’s released two solo albums on Warner Music since the success of the duo, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, behind hits such as ‘Thrift Shop’ and ‘Can’t Hold Us’.
