Lupe Fiasco announces ‘Food & Liquor’ 20th anniversary tour
Lupe Fiasco has revealed he’s going on tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album.
The Chicago rapper released his classic project, Food & Liquor, in September 2006, and he’s giving it the shine it deserves two decades later.
Lupe has revealed he’ll be hitting the road in May and June 2026 for some exclusive dates, performing in just five cities.
He’ll kick things off in Sacramento before heading to Los Angeles, San Diego, New York, and Chicago; it’s unclear whether any international dates will be added. Tickets for the limited tour will be available to purchase on February 13th.
Released on Atlantic Records, Food & Liquor debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200 chart, announcing Lupe as a major artist.
Executive produced by Jay-Z, the project included hits like ‘Kick, Push’, ‘I Gotcha’, and ‘Daydreamin’. Jay also featured on the project alongside Jill Scott, Matthew Santos, Jonah Matranga, Gemini, and Sarah Green.
The producer list boasted Kanye West, The Neptunes, Mike Shinoda, Prolyfic, Needlz, Soundtrakk, and others.
Speaking on the title of the album, Lupe once said, “In Chicago, instead of having bodegas like in New York, the majority of the corner stores are called ‘Food and Liquors’.”
He continued, “The store is where everything is at, whether it be the wine-o hanging by the store, or us as kids going back and forth to the store to buy something. The ‘Food’ is the good part and the ‘Liquor’ is the bad part. I try to balance out both parts of me.”
