Lupe Fiasco announces release of 'Hustlaz' alongside NFT plans

Lupe Fiasco has been clever in his recent move into the hip hop world of NFTs. The rapper hasn’t just announced that he will soon be releasing his own version of the now-popular artform but has done so alongside the release of ‘Hustlaz’ on streaming platforms.

The track is regarded as one of Fiasco’s best but also one of his most heavily bootlegged. Originally released in 2006 on his Lupe The Jedi mixtape as ‘Hustlaz Due’ the song was due to appear on the album Food & Liquor before the LP was leaked and ensured ‘Hustlaz’ was removed before a formal release.

It’s some of Lupe’s finest rhymes as he raps: “I’m just a rose in weeds/And I rolls with reasons to stay on this road I lead,” spits the artist. “Til’ I leave with what I sow, my sole in these, leave my son with the sum of what I sold in deeds, I’m foldin’ y’all, probably headed for the pin like bowling balls, kept it directed at the pen and wrote it for y’all.”

However, before we get any new music from Lupe via his much-anticipated Drill Music in Zion album, the rapper has confirmed he is getting into the NFT business with his own LFTs.

Those who possess an LFT will be able to participate in the “meta-narrative” around the new record and will gain first access to videos and releases, as well as an exclusive invite to a private listening party next year.
