Los Angeles rapper and podcast host arrested on murder charges

Los Angeles rapper and podcast host Ant Jefe has been arrested on murder charges.

The 35-year-old (real name Maurice Shelmon) was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division this week.

According to TMZ, he was booked for felony murder, with his bail set at $1 million.

Reacting to the news, No Jumper creator Adam22 said, “[Ant has] been a great podcaster for the last year or so and as far as I knew, he wasn’t really in the streets like that anymore, so this was all a huge shock.”

During a recent live stream, co-host Mooseman said, “He’s like, ‘Mr, I’m just a podcaster, YouTuber, I’m big chilling.’ So this was disheartening to see for sure. Jefe got our full support up here at No Jumper. We want to see best for bro. And this is a terrible thing to hear, for sure.”

Another panelist said, “TMZ is reporting a murder charge, allegedly. We don’t know. We weren’t able to see his charges. Free Jefe, bro. Last week he was literally sitting here saying he just got a new spot, he was elevating the lifestyle, maybe getting out of some familiar places, just trying to separate himself from the crowd a bit more.”

Jefe has previously spoken about his troubled past, admitting that the “gang shit” got “tiresome.”

“I was running with people who was five and 10 years older than me,” he said on No Jumper in June 2025. “I really started at a young age. My peers, they started gangbanging three, four years down the line.”

He continued, “My whole time as an adolescent was back and forth, in and out of jail, from gang banging and stuff. Catching cases, whether it was a gun case or a stolen car.”
