London drill rapper found guilty of stabbing murder

London rapper Rack5 has been convicted of murder.

The 25-year-old (real name Ellis Heather) was found guilty of killing Zero Ls (real name Stephen Morrisson) following a four-week trial at the Old Bailey on June 23rd.

According to Essex Police, 30-year-old Ls was stabbed on the set of a music video in an Epping car park on June 23rd, 2020. He fled the scene for help but later died of his injuries in the hospital.

Rack5, a member of West London rap group CGM alongside Digga D, Horrid1, and Sav’o, will be sentenced on July 17th.

His biggest song, ‘Plugged In Freestyle’, has over six million Spotify streams. Music videos like ‘Drill or Be Drilled’ and ‘Unprovoked’ also have millions of views on YouTube.

In addition to the guilty murder verdict, 29-year-old co-defendant Yonas Girma was found not guilty of murder.

Ls is the brother of popular rapper, Morrisson. In a statement, his family said, “Our family finally has some peace; Steve got the justice he deserved. This doesn’t take away the pain we feel of not having him with us.”

Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood, who was the senior investigating officer, released a statement following the conviction.

“This verdict finally delivers justice for Stephen and his family, six years after his life was so tragically taken,” he said. “They have shown immense strength and patience as this case has progressed – often away from the public view – and our thoughts remain firmly with them today.”

He continued, “While no outcome can undo what has happened, we hope this verdict provides them with some sense of closure and they can move forward knowing the individual responsible for Stephen’s death have been held to account.”
