Logic labels Kanye West "f***ing moron" for 'White Lives Matter' t-shirt

Logic has given his opinion on Kanye West‘s controversial ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirt, labelling his fellow rapper a “fucking moron”.

During West’s Yeezy season nine catwalk in Paris in October last year, West sparked controversy when he donned a long-sleeve shirt with ‘White Lives Matter’ printed on the back. The phrase is an appropriation of the Black Lives Matter name and slogan.

The movement began in 2013 following the acquittal of George Zimmerman after the lethal shooting of Trayvon Martin 17 months prior in Florida. Since then, ‘White Lives Matter’ has been used by white supremacist and far-right organisations. The Anti-Defamation League categorises it as a hate slogan.

In a recent vlog posted on his YouTube channel, Logic discussed the matter. After touching on how “positive or negative” media coverage makes him richer, he turned to Kanye’s controversial t-shirt. He said: “Only I’m not like evil, so I’m not out here spewing bullshit out of my mouth or wearing ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirts or some dumb shit like that. Fucking moron.”

The Maryland rapper maintained that while Kanye is a “genius” and he “loves him”, the t-shirts were a “stupid fucking idea.” He continued: “I would have not said something like that a few years ago, because I would have been scared that I wouldn’t have gotten a Kanye verse or Kanye beat.”
