LL Cool J announces Rock The Bells festival’s return

LL Cool J has made the announcement that his Rock The Bells festival will come back to Queens, New York, this coming summer. The hip-hop legend is planning to celebrate hip-hop’s 50th anniversary by getting some of the genre’s biggest names to join forces and perform at the event.

He took to Instagram to make the announcement, saying, “I wanted to tell you personally [that on] Saturday, August 5th, Rock The Bells Festival is back.” Cool J then made a reference to his iconic single ‘Mama Said Knock You Out’, “Well, you can’t call it a comeback”.

LL Cool J later put up a separate post that revealed that the location of the festival would be Forest Hills in Queens. The caption read, “It’s truly an honour to bring the Rock The Bells Festival to Forest Hills, Queens for a second year. Line up announcement coming soon. We’re celebrating 50 years baby! Trust your man. You should get your tickets now. Link in bio. #RockTheBellsFestival #RockTheBells #RTB50.”

Back in July last year, Cool J noted what the festival means to him. He said, “This festival is my way of showing love to the community of Hip Hop and celebrating the incredible journey this culture has taken, going from DJ Kool Herc’s Sedgwick Avenue rec room, to the global phenomenon we all cherish today.”
