Lizzo returns with new single ‘Love in Real Life’ announces shows
‘Good As Hell’ singer Lizzo has released a new single and music video, revealing that she will be delivering intimate shows for fans across the US, including in LA, New York, and Minneapolis.
The music video for her latest single ‘Love In Real Life’ hears her say, “Everything was so much simpler, and that’s exactly what I need. No views, no likes, real love in real life.” The pop-rock fusion song is the first solo release from her in almost three years, although she did record a song for the 2023 Barbie movie soundtrack.
Her latest release is the lead single for her upcoming album of the same name, Love In Real Life. Colin Tilley directed the track’s music video which sees the 36-year-old vocalist spruced up in a studded leather jacket, giving listeners a taste of the 1990s. The music video ends with a Michael Jackson-style dance routine showing Lizzo leading a gaggle of dancers. However, Lizzo has had legal problems concerning her dancers in the past.
Still, the singer seems to want to turn the page on her previous legal problems and has insisted that she wants to “celebrate the start of this chapter” by performing three shows — one in New York, one in Los Angeles and one in her hometown of Minneapolis.
Lizzo will play at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on March 12th before heading to New York for a show at Irving Plaza on March 16th. She’ll then finish at First Avenue in Minneapolis on March 18th.
Lizzo has been teasing music since the start of the year and posted a video of herself spray painting and reciting ‘Bye Bitch’ on social media on February 13th. The caption read: “End of an Era.” On Keke Palmer’s podcast, Baby, the vocalist revealed that her latest album is complete, stating, “My album is done. I’m so happy. People thought that I was on a gap year, but mama was in the studio.”
On the podcast, Lizzo also addressed the lawsuit filed against her by her tour dancers two years ago, who alleged they were sexually harassed by the singer and were subject to a hostile workplace environment. Elaborating on her stance, Lizzo told Keke Palmer, “I was literally living in my dream, and then the tour ended, and three ex-dancers just completely, like, blindsided me with a lawsuit.”
She continued, “You can ask me anything about it because I got dismissed from the case. We’re continuing to fight the other claims until they’re all dismissed — not dropped, but dismissed,” she concluded, saying it was “a big victory.”
Presale for Lizzo’s upcoming shows starts on March 5th, and general sale begins on March 6th.
