Minnesota singer and rapper Lizzo has blasted Kanye West for his body-shaming comments as he received a ban from Twitter. This comes as Kanye went off the rails after his recent string of antics across social media.
Lizzo, the singer and famed flautist, decided to castigate West during her performance at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Speaking about West’s recent boot from social media, the singer stated: “About Damn Time!!” Continuing to express her frustrations, the singer proclaimed, “I feel like everybody in America got my motherf*cking name in their motherf*cking mouth for no motherf*cking reason.”
The singer, evidently agitated by West’s recent antics, stated: “I’m minding my fat Black beautiful business!!” She humorously proceeded to ask the Canadian audience, “Can I stay here? Who can I marry for that dual citizenship?”
However, Kanye West is not the only celebrity who has felt the need to mention the self-admittedly obese singer’s name recently. Earlier this year, comic Aries Spears compared Lizzo to “the shit emoji”, saying she looked like “a plate of mashed potatoes”.
Coming to Lizzo’s defence and dissecting Spears’ comments, in an interview with The Art of Dialogue podcast, actor Fiazon Love exclaimed: “The comments in itself are stupid,” Love said. “I mean, Lizzo is a phenomenon, and she’s really talented, and he’s not so talented. He’s got one gear. He’s a, ‘Yo, son.’ But if you know the story of Aries Spears, he’s the guy we saw on Def Jam as a kid. He was 13, 14-years-old. They flew him out to Hollywood, thinking he was going to be the next Eddie Murphy and ‘wamp, wamp.’ He was so angry.”
Over the years, Azealia Banks has repeatedly referred to Lizzo as “Fat Lizzo” and accused her of stealing the swagger of rapper Cupcaake. However, it is Kanye West’s Instagram account has recently been suspended as well as his Twitter account. This has all come as a result of anti-Semitic posts he made while showing screenshots of texts he sent Diddy.
The post read, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight, but when I wake up, I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” his post read. ‘The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew, also You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
The since-deleted post was in violation of the platform’s rules and guidelines. Consequentially, the rapper has been removed from the platform. You can see Lizzo’s address in the video below.
