Little Simz teases new single 'Woman'

Little Simz, the London-baed rapper extraordinaire, has teased the release of a new song from her upcoming fourth studio album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.

The artist previous shared the slightly truncated title track, and now we get a second preview of the upcoming LP in the form of a new single, ‘Woman’.

While not containing any music, the 30-second teaser that Simz tweeted out on Monday presents the setting for the song’s video, a large mansion, with a strong feminist message to “stand together with your sisters.” The video advises the viewer to “keep believing that everything within us is lit up fiercely.” The video ends by stating: “Beautiful, beloved sisters, light up. It’s our time.”

‘Woman’ will be released Friday, May 7th. There’s a pretty hefty gap between then and Sometimes I Might Be Introvert‘s planned release date, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up getting more previews, more teasers, and more singles released in the next few months. It doesn’t appear as though Simz has a dearth of material to share.

Sometimes I Might Be Introvert will be Simz’s first full-length release since 2019’s GREY Area. Last year saw the release of the Drop 6 EP, so Simz – real name Simbi Ajikawo – is quickly racking up a solid reputation for an unstoppable work ethic. The 27-year-old already has so much material that it wouldn’t have been a surprise if she had taken a well-deserved break, but like a prizefighter or prime athlete, Simz knows that she’s in her prime and is taking full advantage of the creative outpouring. The best news: we get to reap the benefits. Here’s hoping every year comes with a new Little Simz release.

Sometimes I Might Be Introvert is scheduled for a September 3rd release. Check out the tweet that teases ‘Woman’ down below.
