Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd share new songs from 'The Idol'

For what is perhaps the most talked about show of the year, The Idol, Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd have shared a brand new set of songs.

The two tracks are primarily orchestrated by The Weeknd and called ‘World Class Sinner / I’m A Freak’ and the show’s title song ‘The Lure’. However, the former song features Depp as the main vocalist.

‘World Class Sinner / I’m A Freak’ appeared in the show’s first episode and was written by The Weeknd and Asa Taccone, and performed by Depp’s Jocelyn, the show’s titular protagonist.

“I was planning on dropping the whole soundtrack for idol by the finale, but I’m too hyped,” Weeknd wrote in a social media post. “Instead, I wanna drop new music from the show every week with each episode. I’m excited for you guys to hear what we’ve been cooking and all these incredible artists that are a part of this show…this week… Jocelyn’s pop song ‘World Class Sinner’ and ‘The Lure’ (theme score)… episode 2 this Sunday 😈”

The show is proving to be ahuge hit online, with millions of posts circulating about The Idol. While famously losing his ability to sing during the production, The Weeknd’s ability to create a classic soundtrack has certainly added to the intrigue.

Just last week, he was able to release ‘Popular’, a track featuring both Madonna and Playboi Carti, in a flexing of his pop music muscles.
