Lil Xan to pay huge fine for threatening Tupac fan with a gun
To man fans of rap music, Lil Xan is a disgrace to hip-hop and one of the worst MCs of all time. His name references the drug Xanax, a benzodiazepine prescription drug used to treat anxiety, which rappers often abuse as a sedative. As such, it is unsurprising that the California rapper was, quite literally, a drug addict who got face tattoos and happened to become a famous musician.
That said, when he arrived on the scene, he didn’t have much respect for the art form, and one of his most notable moments was when, during an appearance on Revolt’s On Clout 9, the SoundCloud rapper spoke about Tupac’s discography and bluntly insisted “it’s boring music.”
That said, despite his irrelevance, the Xanarchy creator is back following a 2020 incident that saw him threaten a Tupac fan at a gas station with a firearm. The fan, Anthony Sanchez, approached Lil Xan at a gas station and proceeded to hurl verbal abuse at him, calling him a “bitch” and other derogatory slurs.
However, after a heated back-and-forth, Lil Xan decided to draw for a firearm, which he then began waving in Sanchez’s direction, after which the rhymer sped off in his car. Despite it seeming like Sanchez was the instigator of this debacle, in court, he admitted he feared for his life.
As such, following the altercation, he filed a lawsuit against Lil Xan. The ‘Betrayed’ artist never responded to the lawsuit and never turned up to court. As a result, the judge decided to rule in favour of Sanchez and ordered the emcee to pay $27k in punitive damages.
Despite being from California, Lil Xan’s multiple comments about Tupac over the years got him into a lot of trouble. On one occasion, the rapper had to get escorted out of a Del Taco in his hometown of Redlands after students mobbed him.
That said, since 2020 and the beginning of a new decade in hip-hop, Lil Xan has become irrelevant and widely considered a 2010s gimmick artist. However, in an interview with AllHipHop, he insisted that he was unwell then and regrets not participating.
Speaking to the publication, the emcee detailed, “I was angry at that time, and all that came down to was a result of me just trying to get the interview done quicker. That was just a little mishap. It was the result of me not being as mature as I am today. Inexperienced with interviews a lot, too.”
