Lil Nas X rushed to hospital after suffering facial paralysis
Lil Nas X has lost control of the right side of his face. The 26-year-old revealed he was hospitalised on April 14th after suffering from facial paralysis.
The ‘Old Town Road’ artist posted an Instagram video showing his inability to move one side of his face. Speaking to his 10.4 million followers, Nas was in disbelief while trying to smile and laugh about the situation.
“When I smile, this is me doing a full smile right now, by the way… it’s like, what the fuck,” he said. “I can’t even laugh right, bro. What the fuck! Oh my God. So… oh my God, bro. So… yeah.” In the caption, he wrote, “Soooo lost control of the right side of my face.”
In some additional Instagram Stories, he told fans not to be concerned about his condition. “Guys I am OK!!” he said. “Stop being sad for me. Shake ur ass for me instead. Imma look funny for a lil bit but that’s it.”
Fans took to the comments to share their own experiences with similar symptoms. One person wrote, “I had a boss lose sensation/control on the left side of his body. Turns out it was temporary and caused by stress. Hoping for the best and wishing you a speedy recovery!”
Someone else wrote, “Hope it’s not a stroke or Bell’s palsy. I’m recovering from a stroke and it sucks. Sending positive healing energy your way babes.”
Lil Nas X released his new EP, Days Before Dreamboy, on March 28th. The project comprises eight tracks, including songs like ‘Hotbox’, ‘Light Again!’ and ‘Need Dat Boy’. It serves as a prelude to his second album, Dreamboy, which is set to arrive in 2025.
His debut album, Montero, dropped in September 2021. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and included hits such as ‘Montero (Call Me by Your Name)’, ‘Industry Baby’ and ‘That’s What I Want’. The LP’s guest list included Elton John, Miley Cyrus, Doja Cat, Jack Harlow and Megan Thee Stallion.
