Former lawyers of Kanye West use newspaper ads to cut ties

It’s believed the former lawyers of Kanye West are using newspaper advertisements to cut ties with the rapper. In the final weeks of 2022, Thomas St. John, Kanye’s former business manager, was rumoured to have been unable to locate the rapper to serve him a lawsuit.

This triggered rumours that he’d gone AWOL, but the rapper was then seen taking his children to a church service in early January, though his location is still unknown.

It’s now been reported that West’s legal team are attempting to find him by publishing newspaper articles in Los Angeles newspapers in an effort to remove the rapper from their roster. The Greenberg Traurig Law Firm is using a “multi-prong approach” to find Ye, according to legal documents obtained by AllHipHop.

Greenberg Traurig represented West during his legal battle with Ultra International Music Publishing. The firm dropped the rapper in the wake of 2022’s antisemitism controversy.

Said documents contain the following: “Publication of the Withdrawal Order’s contents in two Los Angeles-area newspapers, where Ye appears to reside, will also apprise him of the Withdrawal Order.”

They continue: “Given Ye’s public status, publication of the Withdrawal Order will likely garner significant media attention, resulting in broader publication and provide an even greater likelihood of apprising Ye of the Order.”
