Lauryn Hill has claimed that Rohan Marley never cheated on her despite rumours.

The Fugees rapper was in a relationship with Bob Marley’s son between 1996 and 2009, with the former couple sharing five children.

This week, Lauryn took to social media to send Rohan well wishes on his 54th birthday while also clearing the air about their relationship.

“Happy Birthday @romarley! We have been through a lot, but I will always be grateful to you and for you as my protector, my defender and Father to our beautiful children,” she wrote on Instagram. “I hope you’re being celebrated and appreciated today and every day.”

She added, “For those who didn’t know better, @romarley never cheated on me! I remember the beginning when we were young, majestic, and uniting our worlds. Have a blessed one, King.”

Lauryn shared the message alongside old family photos, reminiscing on their happy times together.

In 2011, Lauryn penned an open letter following the birth of her sixth child, son Micah, whom she doesn’t share with Rohan.

“Mr Marley and I have a long and complex history about which many inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning,” she said. “To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form the wrong conclusions. We both value privacy and for that reason defend and preserve our right to it. Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child.”

She continued, “We have had long periods of separation over the years but our five children together remain a joy to both of us. Thank you for your concern, and I appreciate all of the well wishes regarding the birth of my son.”
