Latto disses Cardi B on new album ‘Big Mama’
Latto has taken shots at Cardi B on her new album.
The Ohio-born rapper released her latest album, Big Mama, on May 29th, shortly after the birth of her child with 21 Savage.
On one of the songs, ‘Gimme Dat’, produced by Plu2o Nash, Mike Wavvs, SupaKaine and Tommy Parker, Latto takes aim at Cardi.
In the first verse, she raps, “Bitch said what? Let’s clock it/ Really got a Hermès store in my closet/ Talkin’ ’bout buyin’ big mama a bag like my n*gga ain’t already bought it/ Like my n*gga ain’t comin’ off racks/ Big bank over here, big facts/ Wish a bitch would get in that booth/ I’m callin’ up PlaqueBoyMax.”
Latto’s issues with Cardi stem from a leaked call that surfaced during a night when Cardi and Nicki Minaj were dissing each other.
In a clip, Cardi said she wasn’t “pussy ass Latto” after Ice Spice dissed her on a leaked verse. Cardi later apologised and offered to buy her a bag, which is referenced in ‘Gimme Dat’.
“I was ranting and hot at the moment but I fck with Latto HEAVY!!” Cardi wrote at the time. “I respect everything about her including her team thats so sweet.. AND NOPE! I’m not too prideful to apologise to somebody I really respect so this my public apology and now ima privately buy her a bag.”
The two artists have collaborated in the past on the songs ‘Put It on Da Floor Again’ and a remix of ‘ErrTime’ from Cardi’s most recent album, Am I the Drama?.
Big Mama serves as Latto’s fourth studio album and the follow-up to 2024’s Sugar Honey Iced Tea. It includes features from GloRilla, 21 Savage, Doja Cat, Teyana Taylor, Sexyy Red, Mariah the Scientist, Wizkid, and more.
